Where We Are
Located in West Kelowna, BC, EVE Design acknowledges that we are on the ancestral lands of the Syilx/Okanagan People (pronounced Sey-uhk). We are grateful to the Indigenous people for having cared for these lands and waters since time immemorial. Having an ancestral connection to Canada’s First Nation’s people is a source of pride for EVE’s president Gord Sauer who is a Métis BC citizen himself. His 4th great grandmother Mary was a Saulteaux Indian woman in the Red River settlement at the forks of the Red and Assiniboine rivers (known today as the city of Winnipeg). To honour his ancestral background and the caretakers of the First Nation lands across this country, EVE Design strives to create a business culture of partnership built around the ideals of inclusiveness, respect, understanding and kindness.
Why Use EVE?
EVE Design Ltd is a small electrical engineering firm located in the Okanagan Valley focused on providing excellent service and experience to its clients for all phases of a project. Gord Sauer, P.L.Eng, is EVE's president. Gord has been in the electrical engineering industry for over 30 years working on all types and sizes of projects. His experience and reputation for delivering great service in all types of projects has built him respect with clients and his peers in the industry.
An Indigenous Owned Company
EVE Design Ltd is listed on the Government of Canada’s Indigenous Business Directory (IBD). This recognition will allow EVE to participate in the Procurement Strategy for Indigenous Business (PSIB) which is the Government of Canada's policy to support Indigenous businesses with procurement opportunities. Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) advocates for Indigenous businesses so they can:
- Compete for federal government contracts
- Work on major Crown projects
- Have access to tools to increase their visibility to federal procurement officers
- Explore partnerships and joint-ventures
- Enter new supply chains including links to corporate Canada
The Government of Canada mandate of a minimum of 5% of federal procurement projects held by Indigenous Businesses is being phased in over 3 years, beginning in 2022-2023, with full implementation expected in 2024 to 2025.
